Strangely then Sydney University gave corrupt Chief justice J J Spigelman an Honorary Degree for these services to the law community ! !
At the beginning of March 2010 i wrote to the Vice- Chancellor of Sydney University Dr Michael Spence concerning the conferring of the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa, to Chief Justice J J Spigelman for services to the law community. Some of Spigelman's services raise serious legal and ethical issues.
Close investigations of Chief Justice Spigelmans actions show:
He has often knowingly perverted the course of justice.
He has conspired with defendants, government and other judges to pervert the course of justice.
He has perverted the course of justice to assist murderers and friends.
Law students and Universities overseas have written and suggested a full forensic investigation is warranted into the Judicial actions of Chief Justice Spigelman.
J J Spigelman has always maintained an overly close association with Government. Graduating from Sydney University Spigelman became Chief political advisor for former Labor PM Gough Whitlam. Spigelman was then placed in charge of Political Media.
In his opening address on becoming a Chief Justice, Spigelman said, "The judgments of this Court are part of a broader public discourse, by which our society and polity affirms its core values, applies them and adapts them to changing circumstances."
Spigelman's "changing circumstances", the selling of justice and other Judicial corruption organised by Spigelman should not have been merit for an honorary degree by University of Sydney. Political intervention federally and at state level has also greatly aided Chief Justice Spigelman's corrupt actions.
Attempts to have Chief Justice Spigelman investigated by the NSW Judicial Commission have all failed. On one occasion Ernie Schmatt of the NSW Judicial Commission met secretly with other NSW Judges and non disclosed select members of the public. They dismissed all complaints against Spigelman as they do with most complaints against Judges.
Spigelman would normally officiate at these secret meetings himself. On this occasion Spigelman was appointed to head a major corruption inquiry in Antigua and Barbuda. This was the first time a Chief Justice of NSW had taken leave to hear charges overseas. The NSW Attorney General John Hatzistergos said Chief Justice Spigelmans absence was of no significance. This is not true.
Australian Attorney General Robert McClelland often meantions the supposed great judicial work of Chief Justice Spigelman. This has included a speech he gave at the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law In Melbourne. Organised Judicial corruption is at the opposite end of the spectrum and a long way from Human Rights Law. Australia does not have a significant charter or Bill of Human Rights.
University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor Dr Michael Spence is an Australian academic who has returned from University of Oxford.
Dr Michael Spence has chosen to do nothing concerning Chief Justice Spigelmans Judicial corruption. Prior to his current position as Vice-Chancellor, Dr Michael Spence was Head of Social Sciences at Oxford University and prior to this, Head of the Law Department at Oxford University. Dr Spence is also an Anglican Minister. Dr Spence's actions show lack of ethics and a disregard for law.
Dr Michael Spence has stated he will take no action for the University of Sydney in the matter of awarding the Honorary Degree to corrupt Spigelman.
The official word from the University of Sydney is,
Dear Mr Sharpless
The Vice -Chancellor has referred your emails of 9 March2010 and 16 March 2010, in which you make various allegations against Mr Justice Spigelman, to me for reply.
The University does not have either the authority or the power to conduct an adequate or appropriate enquiry into those allegations. Moreover, the University could not take the action you propose on the basis of material which is hearsay.

The response from the Vice-Chancellor and the University of Sydney is short on ethics.
The University of Sydney has stated they do not have the authority or power to conduct appropriate enquiries into allegations concerning J J Spigelman. In these circumstances the University of Sydney should not have awarded Spigelman an Honorary Degree. It can be assumed the degree was conferred on hearsay as appropriate enquiries could not be carried out.
Contrary to the statement of the University of Sydney my material and allegations are not based on hearsay but on my personal experiences. These experiences also include witnessing the experiences of other people savaged and destroyed by Chief Justice Spigelmans actions.
Even if the allegations were based on hearsay though, and they are not, these same allegations still warrant investigation as the University of Sydney has given an Honorary Degree to a person Law students in the USA, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden study as being corrupt and involved in organised Judicial corruption. That person being Chief Justice J J Spigelman.
It was once hearsay that the world was round, hearsay that Jews were being gassed in camps, heresay that Thalidomide caused birth defects. Many now fundamental truths have originated as hearsay.
Dr Michael Spence has stated as Vice-Chancellor his aim is to make Sydney University an elite institution. It seems there is no place for ethics and legality in the world Dr Spence is creating at the University of Sydney when corrupt judges are awarded honorary degrees.
